Can a person really sin at any time because they can't lose their eternal security because they are once saved always saved? Can someone who once gave their heart to Jesus later reject him and still receive eternal security? Will they still get into the Kingdom of Heaven? Are they no longer in danger of Hell? Does the Bible really say anything about Christians not being always saved after accepting Jesus?
Does the Scriptures say there is an "IF" condition to eternal security? Is something required for Christians after accepting Jesus? Is much of what the Scripture says about this always revolve around a question of "IF"? Have you ever noticed how many times the God's Word says a person receives salvation "IF" they do or do not do something the Bible says once they accept Jesus? Is salvation a free gift? Absolutely!
Does Hebrews 10:38-39 reinforce this "IF" condition?
Does 2 Peter 1:10 say we can fall away?
Does Colossians 1:21-23 show you always need to "continue" in the faith?
Does 2 Timothy 2:12 say "IF" we endure we will reign with Jesus?
There are more "IF" conditions mentioned in 2 Peter 2:20-21 and 1 Corinthians 15:2.
Does the Scriptures indicate a continuing process of salvation is always conditional once we accept Jesus? Can we choose to lose it? Can a Christian intentionally choose to disobey God? Do we lose FREE WILL once we accept our Savior?
The IF condition is everywhere in God's Word. Do we have free will to reject Jesus at any time? Why does God repeat many times that we need to hold fast, to endure, to be on guard so we don't lose our eternal life? Hebrews 10:38-39, Colossians 1:22-23, 2 Timothy 2:12, 1 Corinthians 15:2, 2 Peter 2:20-21, James 1:12, 2 John 1:8, and Revelation 3:11 repeat this not once but over and over again. God wants us to know it. We are NOT once saved always saved!
Compare what the Bible really says about salvation, with what the churches teach. WHEN does this actually occur and is it possible to lose it? You need to know. Read my full study below to see what the Scripture really says once God calls you to salvation.
The word God says is very clear in Hebrews 6:4-6, that true Christians CAN fall away. Every promise of salvation and eternal security always has a condition. If we fulfill the conditions, the promises are ours.
The Holy Spirit helps us to do right but does not MAKE us do right. It's willful sin that is the reason good Christians lose their eternal security. Notice again what Scripture says in Hebrews 10:26-29 if we sin willfully after accepting Jesus as our Savior. The NIV makes it even clearer when you read it there. Once again, notice the IF condition to receive eternal security.
There is a big difference between actually sinning willingly and sinning willfully, which is explained in the full study below.
What does the Word of God say in 1 Timothy 1:4 plainly about departing from the faith? This looks very clear that not everyone will remain a Christian. Some will sin willfully and NOT receive salvation.
Does anything happen to Christians concerning enduring to the end in James 1:12, Revelation 2:10, and 2 John 1:8?
Does Scripture tell us about eternal security in Revelation 3:5, Psalm 69:27-28, and John 15:16?
Can God remove a Christian's name from the Book of Life and they will lose their eternal security? Some ministers say we can't really lose salvation but the Scriptures prove otherwise.
Does the Bible say anything about falling away in 1 Corinthians 10:12, 1 Timothy 3:6-7, Hebrews 6:4-6, Hebrews 10:26-29, Hebrews 10:38-39, and 2 Peter 2:20-21? How can you ignore what the Bible plainly says?
Does Scripture tell us anything about being predestined for salvation in Ephesians 4:1-5? Is the decision we make regarding our salvation really predetermined? Some churches teach that Romans 8:3 actually proves we are saved now and forever. Read the full study below for more details about this mistranslation.
Does Scripture tell us this all happens now, or in the future?
Does it tell us it's a future event in Romans 5:10, Romans 10:13, James 1:12, Mark 13:13, and Matthew 24:13. It doesn't say "IS", but SHALL BE, if we endure to the end. If Jesus saving us is a future event then it's easy to understand the verses about falling away or not enduring. See what the God actually says about Eternal Security in this study.
