How important is it for Christians to observe the day our Savior rose from the grave? Does God command or instruct Christians to celebrate it in any way? Are the customs and traditions we have come to associate with this celebration acceptable to God? If you want to know the truth plainly written in Scripture then this study is for you.

Does the English word Easter actually come from "Eostre," the name of a ancient goddess? Is it also similar to the name Ishtar, the ancient "Queen of Heaven"? Does Scripture say Christians should celebrate a holiday like this? Does Easter, which is a different holiday celebration, have anything to do with Jesus's resurrection? Is it commanded by God to celebrate this day? Did He tell Christians to celebrate it? Did the resurrection even happen on a Sunday morning? These are important questions that need truthful answers.

Do pagan Easter celebration traditions like fertility symbols of decorated eggs and rabbits in the spring have anything to do with our Savior rising from the grave? Why do Christians observe pagan customs that go back thousands of years, like sunrise worship services, facing east and worshipping towards the rising sun? Is this day really about celebrating a pagan holiday that the Catholic Church appropriated and used for the celebration of our Savior's resurrection?

What does God say in the Bible about actually hating our man-made religious holidays? Are our pagan holidays breaking the first commandment found in Exodus 20:3? If we put this pagan goddess celebration before God, isn't that exactly what we are doing?

How about parents bearing false witness to their kids about an egg laying bunny? (Ex 20:16). What happens when the child learns the truth? Will they even question the resurrection at that point?

Does Scripture say anything about Jesus being 3 days and 3 nights in the grave? That's 72 hours. How do you get 72 hours between Good Friday afternoon and Easter Sunday morning?
