The VISION

The Music Ministry provides opportunities for members to use their musical gifts in worship. Music is an important part of SCBC. There are many ways to serve by "making a joyful noise" at South County Baptist Church. Members can participate in the choral and instrumental ensemble groups, including the orchestra and handbell choir. Preschool and Children's Music education programs meet during the school year. Throughout the year South County Baptist Church sponsors special concerts and musical performances by touring professionals. The Christmas and Easter programs offer exceptional Christian entertainment with a message that is enjoyed by many visitors from the community. Worship Choir
Wednesday night rehearsals are at 7:45 pm in the worship center. The choir is a blend of enthusiastic men and women from all walks of life. They serve God through their musical talents by providing music for the Sunday morning services. They also perform for the seasonal Christmas and Easter events. You are always welcome to come and join in on Wednesday evenings.

Silvertones Choir
Monday morning rehearsals are at 11:00 am. Any senior who is 55+ is welcome to join. There are two seasons for the Silvertones, January to July and September to November. They perform at Nursing Homes and Retirement Centers, and provide worship music on the last Sunday of each month.

Youth Choir
Sunday afternoon rehearsals are at 4:50 pm. You don't have to be a good singer to be in this group. You don't even need to audition. Just show up with a heart for God and the desire to praise Him. Any students from grades 7 to 12 are welcome to join this choir.

Soloist/Ensembles
Do you have a special musical gift? If you are a participating member of the choir you are eligible to be in various ensembles, or be a soloist in the worship services.

Instrumental Music
Sunday evening rehearsals are at 7:15 pm in the worship center. The Orchestra is all volunteer. If you have 3 years experience playing an instrument you can join this group of musicians who perform regularly at the worship services.

Worship Bells
Rehearsals are at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. There is currently an opening for the handbell choir for anyone with musical experience.

Silver-Ukes
This group of Ukulele players accompany the Silvertones on many upbeat songs that are performed in retirement centers or nursing homes. No audition is required. Just come and have a good time.
